Ashford Parkside Apartments
Ashford Parkside is the first 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development for HDC’s affiliate, Housing Authority of DeKalb County (HADC). Built as Phase I of the redevelopment of the former Johnson Ferry East public housing - now called Brookleigh, this 151-unit, independent living community is designed for senior’s age 62 years and older. Completed in late 2008, Ashford Parkside is a mixed-finance redevelopment property. Ashford Parkside encompasses 8.7 acres of the 56-acre tract that is the former location of the Johnson Ferry East public housing site. Ashford Parkside provides the first phase of replacement housing for the seniors that previously resided at Johnson Ferry East. This project was financed with 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transaction, a conventional loan and an HADC loan. The project has project-based, rental assistance demonstration (RAD), 60% LIHTC and market units. The HADC is the Owner and served as Co-Developer on the project.
